Semaan joined Azura Power in October 2019 as Chief Engineer with 20+ years’ experience in project execution in the fields of power plants, electrical infrastructure and Oil & Gas. Semaan worked as project mechanical engineer, construction manager as well as project manager before handling power plant operation and maintenance. He built and led the in-house O&M team operating two reciprocating engine combined cycle power plants, in Kenya and in Senegal respectively. Prior to Azura Power, he worked as design engineer and site manager for Matelec s.a.l, an EPC contractor for electrical substations and power plants in Africa. He also worked as mechanical supervisor engineer then as construction manager, for BEMCO, Saudi Arabia, on al Qurayat 1800MW power plant project, and for Aramco upgrading the Juaimah gas plant.

Semaan holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering as well as an MBA, and Project Management certification from PMP and SAPM.
